JK Harris 165 Services Expanding Reach Via Nationwide Sales Team
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – JK Harris 165 Services, the nation’s leader in assisting victims of investment fraud recover some of their losses through an often overlooked tax provision called Section 165 (c)(2), is expanding its reach by utilizing JK Harris and Company’s nationwide sales force.
Section 165 (c)(2) of the IRS tax code allows victims of investment fraud to accelerate the deductions for their losses and realize immediate and substantial tax benefits. Headquartered in Tampa, Fla., 165 Services became a part of the JK Harris family of companies in October of 2002 and currently employs 21 people. Due to the reach of JK Harris’ sales force, which mans 470 satellite offices in 45 states, JKH 165 Services will now be marketed to the thousand of clients the company’s Consultants see each month, according to JK Harris Executive Vice President for Sales Bob Harris. In addition, three questions pertaining to 165 Services has been added to the “Welcome” form JK Harris prospective clients fill out before meeting face-to-face with a Consultant.
“Bob Harris initiated this relationship and is playing an active role to help in the success of this program,” said John Timmons, the Senior Tax Advisor for165 Services. “We believe that we will be able to reach more people through the one-on-one meetings our prospective clients have with our Consultants.”
165 Service had relied solely on its research team to find investment scams and investment fraud victims, but in July was provided a spot on the new Consultant training schedule in July. Additional training was provided for experienced Consultants at the National Sales Meeting held in Nashville, Tenn., in September.
“So far, the results have been promising,” said Timmons. “During the last 12 weeks, 25 referrals have been passed on from our sales team, resulting in seven signed contracts.”
“Before, everything we did started with our research department, looking for investment scams,” said Timmons. “Now, with our research department and the Consultants helping each other, we feel this relationship will be a win-win situation for everyone”
Timmons went on to say that 165 Services is communicating information to the Consultants to help them identify opportunities as well as investment fraud lists.
