This issue has been a nightmare for years, until now.

The IRS, after two tries at compromising, finally gave in and settled for $5,050 on about $48,000 in past taxes. Then the state of Georgia, which everyone, including my local accountant, said would never compromise settled for $5,000 on about $14,000 in back taxes. What a welcome relief.
